Tunisian crochet is a cross between knitting and crochet that results in a completely different texture to both. In this workshop you will learn and practice the most common Tunisian Crochet stitches, and some of the more fun ones as well! We'll put some stitch combinations together that you are going to love too!You don't need to learn a huge number of different stitches to make an effective fabric to suit any purpose. It's all about understanding what stitch works for what project.
Together we'll work up a range of swatches. We won't be following a pattern in this workshop, but will give you lots of ideas for your next projects!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
For this class you will need to bring:
6mm Tunisian crochet hook (single ended with no cable) OR a 6mm standard crochet hook without an ergonomic handle (a Tunisian crochet hook would be better, but we understand that can be a big investment if you're new. Abbey recommends the KnitPro Tunisian Crochet hooks.
8ply/DK weight yarn to make swatches. Left over or scrap yarn will be perfect! Please choose a non-splitty yarn.

ABOUT TUNISIAN CROCHET
Tunisian crochet is a type of crochet that mixes ideas from knitting and regular crochet. It uses a longer hook to hold many loops at once, then works them off in a second step. This makes a thicker, textured fabric that can look a bit like knitting. It’s great for making clothes, blankets, and other items.
Abbey says, "learning Tunisian Crochet is about layering one small skill on top of another small skill. Master the individual skills by repeating them over and over again, and hey presto, you've got yourself a garment to wear!"
