About this Event
Our adventure takes us through grassland, coastal scrub, and riparian plant communities. We'll also enjoy a view of Brooks Falls as we walk—the only waterfall in a San Mateo County Park, but it's a doozy—the water plunges175 feet in three tiers!

This is a moderate hike of 3-1/2 miles hike with about 500 feet in elevation gain.

Bring snacks and water, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Bring poles if you normally use them.
WHERE TO MEET
We'll assemble at the main parking area near the visitor center
When coming to San Pedro Valley Park from the north (San Francisco) or the south (San Jose), use Highway 280 to Highway 1. Take Highway 1 south to the City of Pacifica. Turn east onto Linda Mar Boulevard. Follow Linda Mar Boulevard unit it ends at Oddstad Boulevard. Turn right on Oddstad Boulevard. Proceed on Oddstad Boulevard one block to the park entrance.

ABOUT THE OUTING LEADER
Ken Lavin is the Outing Coordinator for Greenbelt Alliance and has been leading our free educational outings for over a decade. Ken worked as a national park ranger in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and as an instructor for Diablo Nature Adventures, teaching environmental science to school groups in Mount Diablo State Park.
