Exploring Furoshiki: The Art of Japanese fabric wrapping
Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that turns a simple square of fabric into something magical. With just a few folds and knots, it can become a bag, a gift wrap, or a stylish cover—no waste, just creativity.
In partnership with the Seattle Japanese Consulate, we bring you the practice of Furoshiki , which reflects a love for beauty, simplicity, and mindful living. People use it every day to carry bento boxes, wrap groceries, or present gifts in a unique, eco-friendly way.
Join us for the insightful and thoughtfully curated workshop that will bring one of the beautiful traditions of Japan right here to Whidbey Island at the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
