Discover Chinese Culture – Free Lunchtime Workshops!Join us for a series of creative and relaxing lunchtime workshops celebrating the beauty of Chinese arts and crafts. Each week, you can explore a different traditional skill, guided by tutors from the Bangor University Confucius Institute.
Admission: Free – no registration required

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to a traditional Chinese lacquer technique used in decorative arts. Using natural lacquer and mineral pigments, participants will create flowing patterns and transfer their designs onto a bamboo or silk fan.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn about the cultural and artistic significance of lacquer art in China
Experiment with colour and pattern through a guided water-based technique
Create a unique lacquer fan to take home
All materials are provided, and no previous experience is required.
