About this Event
Cyanotype is an alternative photographic printing process that makes use of UVA light — daylight! — to process the image. Using a simple chemical process, and material found in nature (or your home) you will experiment and create a number of small cyanotype prints on a selection of washi (Japanese paper). Each image will be unique — perfect for framing, gifting, cardmaking, collage or mixed media work.
This all-day workshop will take place indoors and outdoors at The Japanese Paper Place.
Washi and cyanotype chemicals will be supplied.
Note: If anyone has allergies or sensitivity to plant material, please be sure to bring a mask to wear when handling materials. The wearing of masks while indoors is optional.
Please remember to bring the following items:
- notepad and pencil for taking notes
- gloves
- apron
- hat / sunscreen
- flat items for printing (materials will be clamped between two layers of clear plexiglass)
- lunch (The JPP has a fridge and small appliances for your use)
