Explorer Academy, 5th Grade Passages 2026

This presentation is a rite of passage for our students as they move from elementary into middle school. The experience gives students an opportunity to reflect on their years at Explorer Academy, citing growth in academics and character. The process helps them gain a greater understanding of themselves as learners and members of a community. The portfolio preparation also gives students experience completing a major individual project.

During the second half of fifth grade, students prepare several components for their Passage Portfolio. Students’ preparation culminates in a 25-30 minute presentation to a panel made up of individuals from our EL and local community, during which they highlight their accomplishments and share their challenges.

The week before events begin, you will receive an information packet at the email address you provide when you register. The information packet will have additional details specific to panelists.
