Step inside one of Kenosha’s most stunning historic treasures. The Durkee Mansion—an Italianate Victorian cream-brick home built in 1861—welcomes visitors for free public tours every 1st and 3rd weekend of each month.
Known for its incredible architectural details, the mansion features the largest suspension stairway in Wisconsin, beautiful parquet floors, and a memorable widow’s walk. For more than a century, the Durkee Mansion played a central role in the history of Kemper Hall, and today it offers a unique chance to experience the elegance, stories, and craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Whether you’re a local history lover, bringing out-of-town guests, or looking for a fun weekend outing, we’d love to see you.
Tour Hours: 1:30–4:30 PM
When: Every 1st & 3rd weekend of each month from April - October
Admission: Free (suggested $5 donation per visitor)
