Registration at Humanitix is essential so we can keep you up-to-date with event information.Glen Eden River is a hidden gem that flows between Warkworth and Matakana. Once you're beyond the tidal section it's only accessible by small craft. You'll take your own small craft from the tidal estuary at Sandspit, past mangroves and some remnant native bush to a small waterfall. There are a few surprises along the way and a few one-kayak-only tributaries that are fun to explore.

Bring your own kayaks, stand up paddle boards, waka ama, and small motorised dinghies to join a social tiki tour of the river.
Friends of Awa Matakanakana (FOAM) is organising the relaxed FREE event for people to have fun discovering the twists and turns along the tidal stretch of the river in the company of others.
The incoming tide is perfect for leaving Sandspit at about 9am, enjoying morning refreshments at a property along the way, and returning downstream as the tide turns.
Bring your own boat and join the fun. Bouyancy aids are essential for everyone.
