About this Event
Please join us for a special Explore + Create where we will have a clay workshop lead by artist Xinwei Che.
Did you know that pottery shapes are often inspired by the human body? Just like us, pots can have mouths, necks, shoulders, bellies, and feet!
Join artist Xinwei Che, whose artwork To Hold Myself is part of the exhibition From the Ground, for a fun, hands-on clay workshop. Using squishing, pinching, gentle pressure, and even our breathing, we’ll shape clay right on our own bodies to create one-of-a-kind pinch pots.
This workshop is all about exploring, playing, and getting a little messy! No ceramics experience is needed — just curiosity and imagination. Please wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting clay on.
Your clay creations will be fired in the kiln and ready to pick up in about two weeks.
Families and children ages 5–12 are welcome. Donations are welcomed at the door.
Space is limited, so be sure to register and save your spot!
