Explore Christ & St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church: Tours & Live Organ

The New York Landmarks Conservancy’s annual Sacred Sites Open House welcomes visitors to explore the buildings, histories, cultures, and communities of participating congregations and sites through unique tours and programming. This year’s theme is Holding Community Memories.

This free, citywide event invites visitors to explore historic sites through tours and special programming. This year’s theme, Holding Community Memories, highlights the stories and traditions that shape these spaces.

Founded as the oldest church on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Christ & St. Stephen’s is a welcoming and diverse congregation rooted in Episcopal tradition, worship, and community service. Its rich history and vibrant present come together in a space shaped by faith, music, and fellowship.

Visitors are invited to step inside and experience the church’s history and architecture through a guided tour, followed by an engaging organ overview and live demonstration.
