Now offering Adult Introductory Ceramic Handbuilding classes starting Saturday, January 4th from 1pm to 3pm at the art studio (2163 Gause Blvd West in Slidell inside Natural Healing Family Chiropractic). We will meet every Saturday for 5 weeks (drop-ins are welcome as well) & cover coil method, slab, carving, how to create different types of handles & how to attach them, drape & slump, sgrafitto, carving, underglazing, glazing, & firing info. Projects we will create: pinch pot mugs, coil bowl or vase, slab platter/serving tray, & sgrafitto project. All bisque & glaze firings & glazes are included. $35/class. Clay is bought separately ($25 for a 25 lb bag of cone 5 Laguna white clay. Can sell in smaller increments.). I have tools but if you would like your own tools ($12 for an 18 piece ceramic tool set on Amazon. I can give you a link to a descent set.)
Limited seats in the class so please send a message to reserve your spot & a $35 deposit which will cover your first class. If you are only able to come to certain classes I can work with that but still need a deposit to reserve your spot. Venmo at Explorations-in-art. Adult handbuilding schedule:
Jan 4th create pinch pot mug, learn how to create & attach handles, carve into the mug or attach details.
Jan 11th create coil bowl/vase, learn different types of coil & how to attach & keep it all together as one.
Jan 18th create slab platters & learn about & use underglazes
Jan 25th learn sgrafitto & carve your design into a previous or new project also using underglazes. Also, glaze fired mug, coil project, & anything else created.
Feb 1st glaze sgrafitto & if anything else needs to be glazed. Learn about firing methods, temperatures, cones, etc.
**Need at least 4 students to register for this class to be able to have this session.
