About this Event
The evening will include a panel on Data, its meaning, and relevance for now and the future, from leading experts in data and the tech industry from Questrade, Loblaws and Compugen. Following this, there will be a brief Q & A. After this, there will be an Open House for the Community Tech's 8-Month Program in Data Science starting in September.
The program - designed to give a rigorous training in Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualization and Data Modeling - is dedicated to creating a safe-space (free of the threat of antisemitism and based in our community) for the Toronto Jewish Community to learn and become adept in data. The Program Director and Program Teacher will briefly discuss the program, its conent, and objectives.

Panelist One - Anu Oladele, VP of Data Engineering at Questrade
As VP of Data Engineering at Canada's largest independent online brokerage, Questrade, Anu Oladele is driving innovation to provide Canadians with superior alternatives to traditional banking through the strategic utilization of data, BI, and AI. With over 20 years of experience in Canadian fintech, he has spearheaded the design and implementation of cutting-edge data systems and practices. Anu holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Portland and a Master of Information degree from the University of Toronto.
Panelist Two - Andrew Stockwell - Head of Data Science & AI Enablement for Questrade Technology Group
Andrew Stockwell is the Head of Data Science & AI Enablement for Questrade Technology Group, a leading provider of financial services in Canada. With over a decade of experience in data science and analytics, Andrew has a proven track record of driving innovation and delivering business value through the application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and analytics. At Questrade, Andrew leads the deployment of AI across the organization, including the development and implementation of Generative AI services. He has also established the organization's first Machine Learning Operational Pipeline (MLops) and chairs the AI round table that sets guidelines for the use of AI.
Panelist Three - Tzvi Aviv - Director of Data at Loblaws
Seasoned data analytics leader with 15+ years of experience delivering analytic solutions in healthcare, retail, and insurance organizations. Spearheaded Agile Data Science transformation and a strategic health analytics roadmap at Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada's largest grocery and Ph*rm*cy network. Holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Technology Innovation Management from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto. Board member and treasurer at the Kiever shul in downtown Toronto.
Panelist Four - Harry Zarek - Founder and President of Compugen Inc
Harry Zarek is the Founder and President of Compugen Inc, the third largest MSP (Managed Service Provider) in Canada, with over $600 million in yearly revenues, over 1200 employees, and partnerships with HP, Microsoft, etc. Zarek, who started his company in his garage in 1984, has been likened to the Steven Jobs of Canada and has been a leader in the Canadian Tech seen since its inception in the 1980s. His insight into technological trends has proven valuable for some of the largest enterprise corporations in North America.
