Lux String Quartet is excited to present “Expanding Our Roots,” a concert featuring Australian composer Nicholas Vines’ composition, Confessions of a Pangolin (2020). Vines’ work is the first piece written for and dedicated to Lux. The quartet will also perform Edvard Grieg’s String Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Opus 27 and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Polka” from Two Pieces for String Quartet.
As a featured Class Notes Artist for the 2024-2025 school year, Lux has been performing Vines’ new work for K-12 students in the Twin Cities metro area. The quartet is dedicated to presenting new works to audiences and looks forward to sharing this commissioned piece on November 22nd at MetroNome.
