An absurdist masterpiece about a fading ruler at the helm of a world in decline. King Berenger is having some trouble accepting his fate.
When his savvy, long-suffering wife tells once-feisty King Berenger that he has less than two hours to live, and that he’d better smarten up to do it well, the old man barks back that he’ll only die when he feels like it. Not much later, after a load of riotous humour and deeply moving introspection, His Majesty, like us, has learned a thing or two.
