The Community Celebration is a day of discovery in and around the Soul of Black Folks quilting exhibition, part of Handwork 2026, presented by Craft in America. Events include a luncheon and welcome reception, gallery exploration and interactions with the artists, curator remarks, poetry reading and a quilting workshop. Come for any or all of the events of the day. All are welcome.
Galleries Open: 12:30pm (1st & 2nd floor galleries)
Community Lunch: 1-2pm (3rd floor Ballroom)
Gallery Viewing: 2-2:30pm (1st & 2nd floor galleries)
Welcome & Poetry Reading Event: 2:30-3:45pm (2nd floor galleries)
Story Quilt Workshop: 4-5pm (3rd floor Ballroom)
