Exhibition Tour: “We Hold These Truths” with Yodit Mesfin

Join poet and strategist Yodit Mesfin and award-winning artist Holly Bass for a tour of We Hold These Truths. Centered on three milestone years—1876, 1976, and 2026—the exhibition examines how national ideals are publicly presented, privately preserved, and passed down through generations.

Yodit Mesfin (she/her) is a justice-rooted strategist, facilitator, poet, and writer working at the intersections of race, place, history, culture, and power. Founder of YMJ & Associates and co-founder of FutureRoot, she helps leaders and communities imagine and build just futures. A Detroiter shaped by Black, Ethiopian, and abolitionist traditions, Yodit brings curiosity, candor, and collective possibility to questions of belonging, liberation, and home. Her forthcoming book, We Are The Ones, honors matrilineal leadership and Diasporic lineage.
