Exhibition Opening
Jonathan D. Wallace’s paintings invite viewers into liminal spaces where figures, interiors, and landscapes become vessels for transformation. This exhibition traces his exploration of symbolic representation, where color, gesture, and form create a threshold to a deeper reality.
Transfiguration includes over 100 paintings, carvings, sculptures, collages, and mixed media works created over the last 45 years. This opening is the first in a series of new artist-led events at Jonathan's studio in Chicago's Humboldt Park Neighborhood.
The evening will include a talk by the artist, Jonathan D. Wallace. Light refreshments will be provided. With live music by the Adam Shead Standards Trio.

About the Artist
Jonathan D. Wallace is a contemporary painter with over five decades of original work. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he holds a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois and MA in Printmaking from the University of Wisconsin.
In the 1970s and 1980s, he worked as a professor of art, visiting artist, and art museum director. He continues to create vibrant and powerful original art that stirs the soul.
