Ceramics has always lived at the intersection of art and utility. A well made bowl carries culture, design, skill and personal voice — all in a form we hold to our lips each day. Functional Forms honours this heritage while encouraging makers to push boundaries, refine skills and celebrate the beauty of the useful.We hope this exhibition inspires you to return to the studio with new intention — to test, refine, evaluate, and perhaps even reimagine what a pot can be.
We are delighted to announce that Ceramics Western Cape has partnered with Iziko Museums of South Africa to host our upcoming Functional Forms exhibition.
The Iziko Orientation Centre at Groot Constantia is situated on the oldest wine estate in South Africa, in the Constantia Valley. https://grootconstantia.co.za
Further consultation with the Iziko Education Department, we have expanded the scope of the exhibition to include a meaningful educational component involving schools in the
Western Cape.
