Exhibition: Dyscalculia and Math Difficulties

Dyscalculia is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by persistent, slow progress, and unexpected difficulties in mathematics.

Individuals with dyscalculia may struggle with tasks such as remembering basic math facts, telling time, or remembering steps in procedures. These difficulties can often be mistaken for carelessness, lack of effort, or simply being “bad at math.” In reality, dyscalculia affects the way the brain processes numerical information. Without proper awareness, many individuals continue to struggle silently, which can impact not only their academic progress, but also their confidence and attitude toward learning.
