About this Event
Central Library and Archives is built onto the remains of Square Church. Approximately 1400 people were buried in the graveyard. In 2014 excavations were carried out, by Archaeological Service WYAS, upon an area of land between the Square Chapel and the Square Church Spire. David Williams from Archaeological Service WYAS will be talking about the excavation works and its fascinating findings here at the Central Library and Archives on Friday 29th November.
Calderdale Libraries and West Yorkshire Archive Service, Bodies Under the Library project has been researching some of the lives of the people who were buried as Square Church. The Bodies Under the Library exhibition is on at the Central Library and Archives until Saturday 30th November. Hear all about the excavation works during this talk and then check out the exhibition.
