Exhibition Launch on Culture Night at Ardgillan GalleryEvolving Landscapes is a critical reflection on the urgent need for climate action in the face of escalating ecological instability. As biodiversity declines and environmental thresholds are crossed, artistic practices increasingly turn to embodied, site-responsive methods that engage directly with damaged ecosystems and communities on the frontlines of change.
Through sound, image, material, and collective processes, this exhibition foregrounds listening, witnessing, and repair as tools for resisting environmental collapse. It challenges passive observation and calls for deeper, more reciprocal relationships with the natural world.
Together, these practices invite reflection on how landscapes evolve – physically, politically, and emotionally – in the face of an accelerating climate emergency. Small actions, when multiplied by millions, can transform the world.
