The meaning of the Monad depends on the context. Its symbolic meaning varies on your positionality, as the Monad bridges the disciplines of philosophy, mathematics, programming, and esotericism.
The Monad is a widely observed symbol within occulture but often not fully understood. To help us on this journey of understanding, Dr Phil Legard, has returned for what we hope will be his annual moot lecture. Phil will help us understand, unlock and apply the Monad to our everyday occult practice.
It has been posited that the Monad represents unity, wholeness, and the source of all being. The work of John Dee within his hieroglyphic Monad brought forward the ideas that the Monad is a fusion of opposites (Sun and Moon, spirit and matter); a path to enlightenment through symbolic understanding; and a cosmic key to unlocking the mysteries of nature and the divine.
