About this Event

Join us at Kelvin Hall for a special screening of the award-winning documentary ‘Everybody to Kenmure Street’. Winner of the Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Civil Resistance.

In May 2021, a UK Home Office dawn raid triggered a remarkable response. In Pollokshields, Scotland's most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of residents rushed to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbours.

The documentary includes footage from the National Library of Scotland's film archive, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

The screening will be introduced by Zandra Yeaman, Curator of Discomfort at the Hunterian Museum.

Tea and coffee will be available in the foyer before the screening from 5:15pm.

Drop in from 4:45pm to view items from the National Library's collections that relate to the themes of the film.

This event is programmed in partnership with the Hunterian as part of CRER's Black History Month programme.
