Evergreen Auditions: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Musical
Auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Musical will be held on September 12 & 13 from 1:00-3:00pm and 3:00-5:00pm. If needed, callbacks will be held September 15; 5:00-7:00pm. Youth, ages 6+ and adults are invited to audition. No experience necessary, all races, cultures, and genders invited to audition.

There will be an all cast & parent meeting on September 21; 5:15 - 7:00pm
Music & choreography rehearsals will begin September 21; 5:15-7:00pm
Blocking rehearsals will begin October 12; 5pm-7:00pm
There will be one Saturday rehearsal on November 14; 10am-2pm
There will be one online rehearsal on November 23; 5:00pm-7:00pm

The Story:
The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world - so when they crash Sunday School and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There not supposed to be biting and cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while the kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon, everyone is calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It's up to the Bradleys and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this bouyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic.
The Characters:
The Herdman Kids
Ralph: The oldest and coolest. He's the enforcer, 13
Imogene: Leader of the Herdmans. She's loud, bossy, and crafty, 12
Leroy: Ralph's backup. Very confident in the muscle department, 11
Claude: Scrappy & smart, 10
Ollie: A bit of a naive urchin who follows the older boys leads, 9
Gladys: Little but fierce. Nothing scares Gladys, 8
The Bradleys
Grace: Sweet, good-humored, slightly frazzles mom, 35-40ish
Bob: Easygoing dad, wry sense of humor, 35-40ish
Charlie: typical kid brother, says what he thinks, 10
Beth: Charlie's older and wiser sister. She's honest and kind, 11
Church People
Helen Armstrong: Organized steamroller. She's always in charge, 40-50ish
Reverend Hopkins: Occasionally befuddled, always well-meaning, 40-50ish
Church Ladies
Luanne: Sassy, tells it like it is, 35-40ish
Betty: Sweet, southerner, calls everyone "honey," 30-40ish
Connie: Direct, no-nonsense type, 30-40ish
Kids
Alice Wendleken: Know-it-all. She thinks she's perfect, 11
Elmer Hopkins: Preacher's kid, which means he needs to behave and be nice, 10
Teddy Shoemaker: Wimpy kid with glasses, asks too many questions, 9
Ivy Reed: Beth's earnest friend who is sometimes a goody-goody, 11
Ensemble
Young actors to play baby angels, shepherds, and angels in the pageant and possibly other kids in lunchroom
