Vittorio Sella - From K2 to Kangchenjunga by Sujoy Das
Italian photographer Vittorio Sella shot mountains in four continents in the late 19th century and early 20th century, In this presentation on his extraordinary life and iconic images, Sujoy Das traces Sella's journey from a small town in Biella, Italy to the lofty heights of the Karakoram and the Himalaya. Working with large format equipment in very difficult conditions, Sella brought home images which are highly rated even today for their aesthetic beauty and purity. This presentation with historic images is not to be missed.
Icing on the Lakes - Changthang in Winter by Sankar Sridhar
Award winning mountain photographer Sankar Sridhar has made numerous visits to Ladakh in the height of winter. Once the ducks and tourists depart, the nights lengthen and the terrain turns partial to white, the Changthang's land and lakes undergo a startling transformation. At temperatures far below freezing, the presentation takes us through Sankar Sridhar's decade-long journeys into the heart of this high-altitude cold desert at its most brutal and beautiful.
