Evening Kingfisher Walk and Pizza
About this Event
Join Harry Rice and Andy Washington for a summer evening wildlife walk along the River Lea, starting from Hackney Marshes and exploring one of East London’s best areas for spotting birds and enjoying a slower, more attentive evening in nature.
The main target species will be kingfishers, but there is plenty else to look out for along the way, including grebes, cormorants, moorhens, coots, ducks, woodpeckers and other urban wetland birdlife.
This experience is aimed first and foremost at wildlife lovers, though photographers are very welcome and encouraged too. The focus will be more on spotting and enjoying the wildlife than on a specialist photography workshop, but there should still be good opportunities for anyone wanting to bring a camera.
The walk will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and will involve around 1.5 to 2 hours of easy walking. Afterwards, anyone who would like to continue the evening can join for pizza and drinks at All My Friends nearby. Food and drink are not included in the ticket price and will be paid for individually.
With the long summer evenings, this should be a lovely way to spend time outdoors, meet like-minded people, and experience a wilder side of East London.
