Evening Birding Walk Along the RiverJoin the Mecosta Conservation District for a relaxing and educational evening birding walk along the river! This guided outing is perfect for beginners, families, and anyone interested in learning more about the birds in our area.
📅 Friday, May 15 | 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Northend Riverside Park (Trestle Bend Drive, Big Rapids)
Led by local birding expert Terry Grabill from Bird Goober, participants will learn the basics of birding while enjoying a guided walk along the riverside. You’ll discover how to identify birds by:
Sight and field marks
Bird calls and sounds
Habitat and behavior
This is a welcoming event for all experience levels, and families are encouraged to attend. Each participant will also receive a suet bird feeder to take home.
💲 Cost: $15 per person
Recommended items to bring: Binoculars, Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, umbrella for light rain.
In the case of severe weather, the event will be rescheduled.
