Winter 2026 Bellydance Choreography Program (Jan–Jun) — Progressive Training + Optional Summer Performances

Join a warm, body-positive weekly bellydance class in the heart of New Westminster!
Bellydance is a great dance form to learn to express yourself, feel your body and learn how to connect to the music and improvise.
All levels are welcome!

What we’ll do in class:
This is a structured, progressive bellydance program—designed for consistent growth, skill-building, and choreography development (not an ongoing “drop-in whenever” workshop format).

Drop-In Dates (Trial Weeks Only)

Drop-in sessions are available only for the first four classes:

• January 19, 2026

• January 26, 2026

• February 2, 2026

• February 9, 2026

These dates are ideal if you want to meet the instructor, try the format, and decide whether you’d like to commit to the program.

Starting February: Term Registration Required

Beginning February 16, 2026, classes will run only when at least 5 students are pre-registered for the term.

• Term registration = your spot is secured

• Drop-ins become add-ons only (space permitting, max 10 students per class)

• This structure allows the group to progress reliably and ensures the class can continue running sustainably.

Program Format: Progressive Training + Choreography Builds

We will train gradually and build choreography over time. Material is taught in sequence—week to week—so students can develop technique, confidence, and performance readiness.

Winter choreography #1 completed by end of March 2026

Spring Choreography #2 completed by end of May 2026

Important Notes About Joining Mid-Program

We warmly welcome motivated dancers who join later, however:

• If you join mid-term, you will need to follow the current level and tempo of the group.

• We will not re-teach the basics or re-cover previously taught choreography for drop-ins or late joins.

• This keeps the experience fair and focused for students who are committed to the full progression.

Thank you for understanding and supporting a consistent, high-quality learning environment.


Optional Performance Opportunities (Summer 2026)

All registered participants will be invited to perform at local summer festivals and community events, under Bellydance Collective BC, directed by @julianapopovichyvr.

Performances are optional, supportive, and a wonderful way to build confidence and celebrate your progress.


Class capacity: capped at 10 participants.

Footwear: barefoot, indoor dance shoes, or grippy dance socks (no slippery socks).


January 6th 2026 through June 15th, 2026

No classes: all statutory holidays, Spring Break, March 20–27, 2026 (ZOOM ONLY to keep the pace).

Mondays | 7:30PM–8:30PM

(Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in.)

Registration & Payment

• Online: Eventbrite

• In person: Cash / E-Transfer / Credit Card

If paying in person, please arrive 15 minutes early to register.

E-Transfer to: [email protected] (use “New Westminster class + your name” as the note)

Pricing (Eventbrite may show totals with GST/fees included)

• Drop-in: $25 + GST (available only January 19th & January 26th)

• 5-Class Pack: $100 + GST (=$20/class)

• 10-Class Pack: $180 + GST (=$18/class)


Passes valid until: 5-class Pack is valid for 6 weeks from the purchase. 10-class Pack is valid for 12 weeks after purchase.

All registered students with be receiving a 25% for the 2026 workshops with Juliana and Katarina: zills, veil, floor work, sword, "Your Goddess Costume Making"


What to bring:

Yoga mat • Water bottle

What to wear: comfy workout clothes • barefoot or dance grippy socks • hip scarf optional

(No coffee cups allowed inside the studio.)


Medical:

This is a dance class, not medical or physiotherapy advice. Participate at your own pace and consult a health professional if needed.

Safety caution: Also, please love your body and make sure to get your medical clearance if you’re pregnant, postpartum, or returning from injury. I’m happy to offer easier, still-fun modifications to match your comfort level.
