About this Event
Art is a great activity to encourage mindfulness, relaxation and of course creativity.
In this course, you will look at the 'Elements of Art' which include line, shape, form, colour, value, texture, and space.
You will be looking at the human form including proportion, facial features and portraits.
Students will work towards completing individual projects. The tutor will include lessons on graded washes and techniques such as wet on dry and wet on wet, plus other exciting elements, such as splattering, stamping, masking and the use of salt and rubbing alcohol to add texture and movement to their finished piece.
The focus will be on watercolour techniques and on shading and mark making. But Sarah will work closely with students to ensure this course meets their expectations.
Sarah will bring in visual props for students to produce still life pieces and each week provide printed resources which will allow the student to build up a useful guide for them to practice at home.
We're excited to have onboard our brand new evening art tutor, Sarah.
Here are a few words from her -
Creativity is my passion. I have always loved art and studied a BTEC National Diploma in general art and design at Harlow college and a BTEC HND in Wildlife Illustration in South Wales.
Since then I have worked as a graphic designer for over 30 years and an artist.
I have been teaching adult art classes since 2021, where we have worked through various subject matters and mediums eg. sketching, drawing, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, pastel, collage.
I also have experience in lino cutting and teach annual Christmas wreath making workshops.
I look forward to meeting you all. Sarah
