Evening Art Class: Making a Self-Portrait

Ticket includes three classes in April:

The genre of self-portraiture is the subject of this course. We will spend these three weeks creating a single painting, working from mirrors and using acrylic paint. We will consider why so many artists make paintings of themselves. Why is self-portraiture potentially so challenging?
With our reflection, there is the problem of not being able to see the head from multiple aspects, as is possible with a life model. There is also a problem if a painter wants to draw their hands while, at the same time, using them to paint. Students will be shown ways to approach such issues as these and we will have some fun and thoughtful discussions during the classes.

All artist-quality materials are included in the price of the classes.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided.
