Artist Bio

Born in 2001, Eva Victoria Schockmel is a classical guitarist from Luxembourg. She embarked on her musical journey at the Conservatoire de la Musique de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, where she developed her passion for the guitar in the class of Christian Peckels from the age of seven, culminating in a ‘Diplôme Supérieur’ with ‘Grande Distinction’.

Eva pursued her Bachelor studies in classical guitar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Gabriel Bianco, where she graduated with the highest possible distinction in 2025. Alongside solo recitals, she is an avid chamber musician and has appeared as a soloist with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Luxembourg Military Band, Cambridge Graduate Orchestra and Il Forum Musicale. Prestigious concert halls she has performed in include Wigmore Hall and Kings Place (London), Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and Philharmonie Luxembourg (Luxembourg City). Debuts in 2026 comprise the Royal Albert Hall and Presteigne Festival, amongst others.

Her most recent awards at competitions comprise 1st Prize at the Royal College of Music Guitar Competition 2026 (United Kingdom), 2nd Prize at the Uppsala International Young Talents Competition 2025 (Sweden), 3rd Prize at the 14th Martinez Guitar Duo Competition in Iserlohn 2025 (Germany), and 3rd Prize as well as Audience Prize at the Mantovani International Guitar Festival 2025 (Italy).

Passionate about guitar, percussion and arranging, Eva currently pursues her postgraduate studies as a Neville Wathen Scholar at the Royal College of Music in London under the guidance of Gary Ryan and Christopher Stell. Furthermore, she has been selected as an Awardee of the International Guitar Foundation (IGF) as part of their Young Artist Platform (YAP) 2025-2026.
