From August 21st to the 24th 2025 historians, researchers, collectors and scholars of illusionism and the magical art from all over the world, will meet in Riga, Latvia, for the 10th Edition of the EMHC (European Magic History Conference), to discuss recent research and discoveries relating to the history of illusionism through a series of lectures. Antique magic tricks, memorabilia and posters from different collections will be exhibited and the conference will culminate with a performance organized especially for the attendees.For the first time the European Magic History Conference will be held in Riga in the MYSTERO Theater & Museum.
Past conferences have been held in France (Paris, 2005 and 2015), Germany (Berlin 2007, Hamburg 2013), Austria (Wien 2009 and 2019), UK (London 2011), Italy (Turin 2017), Belgium (Ghent 2023).
What to expect:
-At least 15 lectures from renowned magicians, historians and researchers
-Two special events with visits to specific historical places
-Saturday and Sunday antique and vintage magic market
-Welcome party at the Mystero Theater & Museum of magic
-Gala Dinner
-Gala show produced especially for the event and reserved only for the participants.
The event will be held at the premises of the Theater and Museum of Magic MYSTERO, a former movie theater built in 1930 which today hosts a 300 seat fully equipped theater, a private collection, a permanent expositions of magic tricks and antique posters (www.mystero.lv).
