About this Event

Are you interested in attending a small group practice session where you can continue to gain knowledge about Cardiac Dysautonomia and Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension?

Nearly half of People with Parkinson’s disease have Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension (NOH)—a serious but often overlooked blood pressure disorder. Some symptoms include fatigue, lightheaded when standing in line, inability to keep up in exercise class, etc.

This small group practical session will address:

  1. What is so special about Cardio-Vascular Dysautonomia? How do you know if you have a form of it? What are its major impacts on People with PD?
  2. WHY and HOW to measure Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension and Supine Hypertension?
  3. If you have Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension, what are non-pharmaceutical interventions to minimize its impact on you.

Dr. Jean Donovan, RN, MSN, MAPA, PhD will lead this discussion. Jean is diagnosed with Cardiovascular Dysautonomia and passionate about educating people on this common, underrecognized condition.

This session is for:

  1. People with Parkinson's alone or with a care partner.
  2. Individuals that can stand with minimal assistance and be on their feet for 4 minutes
  3. Individuals that have viewed our Dysautonomia lecture series this winter. If you missed the series but are interested in attending you can access the videos on PRO's YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/parkinsonsresources before attending a session:
