How far should the EU go in securing its external borders? In this conversation, we will explore EU migration and border policy, with a particular focus on the role of Frontex in European border security.
We will discuss the balance between security, technology and border control on the one hand, and the political, social and human dimensions of migration on the other. Where should the EU draw the line - and what should the future of European border security look like?
Meet the speaker: Ahlam Chemlali, one of Denmark’s leading experts on migration. Ahlam is a postdoctoral researcher and Co-Director of the Centre for Coercion and Accountability (CECA). She researches migration and borders, with a particular focus on European externalization policies and their political, social and human consequences.
After the talk, we will be holding our Annual General Assembly. Stay for dinner, join the discussion, and take part in our GA!
