Esther Mae is a girl folk duo from Chapel Hill, NC. The duo gets their name by combining the two members' middle names. Emma Bishop sings and plays guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Chloe Winchester sings and plays fiddle, guitar, and bass among others. While the two musicians met performing together in the Carolina Bluegrass Band, they have carried on their musical journey together and expanded to songwriting and recording. Listening to Esther Mae feels like going home, even if you don't know where home is anymore. Their songs are sorrowful yet hopeful, devasting yet divine.
