This hands-on workshop explores social emotional learning (SEL) efforts in OST & staff practices that can impact youth's SEL development.
About this Event

This workshop lays the foundation for the other other Social & Emotional Learning workshops offered by APOST.

In this introductory workshop, attendees will explore a framework that is focused on harnessing Social and Emotional Learning efforts on change in practice. Workshop activities will engage participants in examining SEL efforts in the context of both the out-of-school time field’s commitment to Positive Youth Development and the research, resources, and supports driving adoption of SEL practices in staff practices, program management, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

You'll leave this workshop having identified ways to have a greater impact on SEL development of young people, wherever you work with them!

New!
This training is a newer APOST offering, as it's part of the Social & Emotional Learning Youth Work Methods Workshops, a recently development series, from The Forum for Youth Investment | The Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality. You can learn more at: https://forumfyi.org/weikartcenter/workshops/

Registration Details

This workshop is limited to 15 participants. Registration for this workshop closes two days before the workshop or when it is full.

Because of the interactive nature of this workshop, in the event of low registration it may be cancelled. Advance notice will be provided.

We will have a waiting list that we'll use to both fill spots that open up and also help plan our future workshop topic schedule.

Each participant will be provided with an Essentials of an SEL Framework guidebook to use during the training and keep. They will also receive a certificate of completion via email after the workshop.
