Come meet filmmakers and creatives to celebrate the next wave of exciting Asian filmmaking talent at Filmhouse before the back to back screenings of Asian Panorama and A Useful Ghost/
We welcome every moviegoer and filmmaker who is a fan of scary Asian spirits, food banters, sharp humour or unconventional short films, to come raise a glass and celebrate a range of UK- and globally-based artists at the Filmhouse’s Gallery Bar before the start of our celebration of Asian cinema with Asian Panorama and the Scottish premiere of A Useful Ghost.
Expect heated debates about the best action movie, a unique chance to meet and connect with fellow guests who have a keen eye for eccentric moving pictures, and lively conversations sharing our passion for independent filmmaking and creativity.

Asian Panorama features 8 exciting shorts, including the Edinburgh-based director Lucas Kao with his short The Air We Breathe.

After that, we hope you are ready for the Scottish Premiere of A Useful Ghost, an outstanding debut feature from Thai director Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke that won Critics Week’s Grand Prize of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for the Queer Palm.
