ESC 02 // Ornella Noulet - Egon WolfsonSaxophonist Ornella Noulet and drummer Egon Wolfson are a young French-American duo from Brussels. With deep respect for the legacy of John Coltrane and his colleagues, they explore their personal musical path through expression and improvisation—varying between explosive and/or meditative styles. Both musicians devote themselves with enthusiasm and dedication to free improvisation and sound exploration. The two kindred spirits draw their inspiration primarily from saxophone-drum duos of the late 1960s and early 1970s. They recorded their recently released debut album, “Summer Hour,” in the summer of 2024 at Alhambra Studios in France.
The musicians will hold a Lab after the concert.
The idea: Guide the people willing to participate into how to create, position themselves in the context of fully improvised music.
How: through different exercices, rules, languages, by adopting different roles that are linked to emotions.
