SATURDAY EVENING CONCERT: JUNO Award–winning guitarist Michael Occhipinti and JUNO-nominated vocalist/pianist Elizabeth Shepherd unite as ES:MO, a dynamic jazz duo blending innovation and soul. a dynamic jazz duo blending innovation and soul. Honouring their acclaimed "The Weight of Hope" collaboration (2022 JUNO-nominated), they bring their newest project, Sunshine in My Bones — an electro jazz-pop journey of velvet vocals, expressive keys, and atmospheric guitar. With 19 JUNO nominations, 2 wins, and 2 Polaris Prize nods between them, ES:MO delivers an intimate, genre-blurring performance of original works and reimagined favourites, weaving groove, texture, and storytelling. Join us for a potluck musical evening and a live performance that radiates warmth, rhythm, and connection.
Based in Montreal and Toronto, Shepherd and Occhipinti share a long history with our community. Since 2015, they have appeared in multiple formations and collaborations. This concert marks their third performance together in Lions Bay, and their seventh collective appearance, continuing a musical relationship audiences have come to know and love.
