Erik Koskinen Band at White Lilac Nov. 11th
About this Event
Erik Koskinen returns to The White Lilac on Wednesday, November 11, for an intimate evening of sharp storytelling, deep grooves, and exceptional guitar playing.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls him “the best country songwriter in Minnesota” and “as dazzling a guitarist as he is an evocative storytelling songwriter.” His music moves freely among country, blues, folk, and rock—grounded in American roots traditions, with a sound unmistakably his own.
Raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and now based in rural Minnesota, Koskinen writes about working lives, love, hardship, and small victories. His perspective comes honestly: before making music his full-time livelihood, he worked as a carpenter and steelworker. He has also produced or engineered recordings for Charlie Parr and Trampled by Turtles, and toured and recorded with Jeffrey Foucault and Pieta Brown.
His latest full-length album, Down Street / Love Avenue (2024), explores love, resilience, and the strength of women, inspired partly by his mother’s cancer battle and the nurses who cared for her. He followed it with the 2025 single “4th of July.”
His audience reaches well beyond the Midwest: after becoming a crowd favorite at Denmark’s Tønder Festival in 2025, he returned with his band in 2026.
Now hear him up close, in a room built for listening—where the guitar work, the wit, and every carefully chosen word have room to land.
