'Erica Steenkamp and Christopher Newland are a musical duo from Southeast London. Erica is a singer songwriter who plays acoustic guitar. The material they play consists mainly of her original songs as well as covers by various songwriters, some well-known, others more obscure. Her own songs are distinctive and easy to listen to. Christopher Newland is an accomplished guitarist with many years’ experience. He and Erica have been collaborating for some time and this is evident in the unique and pleasant sound they create together.'
Joining them are Ian Bennett and Benedict Valuks who started making music together in late 2018, brought together through the bustling and vibrant south London music scene and their love of alt-folk, finger-style guitar and vocal harmonies. In 2024 Jack Neale joined the band on bass, expanding the sound and energy of the songs. Work has started on the band's debut album 'Made in London', with a launch pencilled for July 2025. This exciting project has seen Ian, Ben and Jack collaborate with other musicians they deeply admire from the London scene.
