About this Event
This 2.5-hour guided experience is offered as a free gift to our community, designed to help you release the heavy dormancy of winter and reconnect with the vibrant life returning to our landscape.
This guided experience invites you to slow down and immerse yourself in the natural world through the ancient art of Shinrin-Yoku, or Forest Bathing. We will gather at the shelter at Mentor Veterans Park to begin our journey through peaceful wetlands and wooded paths, rediscovering a sense of wonder and calm.
The Journey Includes:
• Sensory Invitations: Gentle prompts to engage your senses as we witness the very first signs of spring.
• Mindful Meditation: A guided walking meditation to anchor your presence and quiet the mind.
• Fireside Tea Ceremony: We will return to the park shelter to conclude with a communal tea ceremony by the fire, offering gratitude to the land and each other.
Event Details:
• When: Saturday, March 21 | 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM

What is Forest Bathing?
Originating in Japan as Shinrin-yoku, Forest Bathing is not a fitness hike or a naturalist's trek. It is the practice of immersing yourself in nature in a way that "bathes" the senses. By slowing down and intentionally engaging with the sights, scents, and textures of the forest, research from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy shows we can lower stress hormones, boost immune function, and restore our mental clarity.
