About Our Speaker:
Robert Jones was born in New Jersey and earned his college degrees in California and Kentucky. He is a Chinese specialist, holding a B.A. in Chinese language, an M.A. in early Chinese archaeology, and a doctorate in comparative humanities. He lived in Taiwan for nearly a decade and traveled extensively throughout China. Jones later became a professional guide, leading nearly 300 trips to Asia, and taught Chinese language at St. Francis High School for over a decade. His connection to Kentucky’s horse culture inspired his doctoral dissertation on the history of the horse in early China, with a special focus on artistic renditions of this equine animal.
