Equine First Aid Class
Accidents and emergencies can happen to any horse, and knowing how to respond can make all the difference!
Join us at Atohallan Farms for an educational, hands-on Equine First Aid Clinic designed to help horse owners, riders, and enthusiasts feel more confident recognizing potential problems and responding appropriately.
We'll cover topics such as:
🐴 Recognizing an Emergency – Learn to identify signs that something isn't right and when it's time to call the veterinarian.
🩺 Vital Signs – Practice checking temperature, pulse, respiration, and other important indicators of your horse's health.
🩹 Wounds & Injuries – Learn basic wound assessment, cleaning, bandaging, and when veterinary attention is necessary.
❤️ Colic & Other Common Emergencies – Recognize warning signs and understand what steps to take while waiting for veterinary assistance.
🚑 Emergency Preparedness – Learn what supplies belong in your equine first aid kit and how to prepare for unexpected situations.
🤲 Hands-On Practice – Get practical experience with the skills discussed, using our horses in a supportive learning environment.
No previous first aid experience necessary! Whether you're a new horse owner, an experienced equestrian, or simply interested in learning more about horse care, this clinic will provide valuable knowledge and practical skills.
Our goal isn't to replace veterinary care, but to help you become a more knowledgeable, observant, and prepared advocate for your horse.
