Equanimity is not about obedience or control. It’s a shift in mindset — from training behavior to supporting the horse’s nervous system, posture, and joy of movement.
Join us April 25–26th for a 2-day Equanimity clinic with Steinar Sigurbjörnsson at Justin Stables in Montgomery, NY.
Rooted in science, sensitivity, and presence, Equanimity focuses on:
✨ Proprioception, balance, and postural strength
✨ Helping horses shift from fight/flight into curiosity
✨ Playful, voluntary movement instead of forced repetition
✨ Reconnection for horses who are shut down, over-trained, or in recovery
Through mindful exercises, external focus, sensory tools, and work in natural environments, horses are invited to participate, explore, and make choices — developing confidence, autonomy, and pride in their movement.
“Sometimes the horse doesn’t need to be trained — it needs to come alive again.” Once that aliveness returns, posture and motivation begin to emerge naturally — and riding becomes the easy part.
Equanimity supports horses to carry themselves (and eventually a rider) with integrity, expression, and ease — benefiting long-term soundness and the horse’s sense of self.
And perhaps best of all?
It’s fun — for both horse and human.
