Equally Yoked Christian Singles Pickleball Tuesdays | Westland

Equally Yoked is a Metro Detroit-based group seeking to create spaces for practicing Christians who are single in southeast Michigan to meet and connect in-person as well as foster relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 4:16.

Join other Christian singles for pickleball and fellowship this summer for the game that's all the rage! We will play weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. from June through August. All levels are welcome!

Participation in this fellowship event is not limited to a specific age range. You are not required to be a member of a particular church or denomination, though we ask attendees are a part of a church to be plugged into a faith community.

To start, we'll play at a park in western Wayne County's Westland. The location on this Eventbrite is the town hall and is NOT the correct meeting place. You will recieve the correct location after registering and be able to join a GroupMe app chat to receive weekly updates and notify your attendance for future pickleball Tuesday events. You need only to register once!

There is not a direct cost to participate, but we do ask attendees each donate a single unopened bottle of water for the Baldwin Center, a Christian-founded nonprofit in Pontiac that runs a soup kitchen/food distribution center.

If you register within 24 hours of a Tuesday event, you will not be guaranteed attendance for that week.

Paddles will NOT be provided. Please bring your own. Courts are first-come, first-serve. We'll swap out partners after each game.

In addition to a paddle, don't forget to wear comfortable clothing, a water bottle for yourself, sunscreen, and sunglasses or a hat, if needed.

Portable bathrooms are available on-site. Parking is available on-site for free.

These events will NOT include speed dating.

About The Baldwin Center

The Baldwin Center was created as an outreach program of the Baldwin Avenue United Methodist Church in response to increasing poverty in the neighborhood. The congregation opened the center’s doors to provide food and recreation to children in June 1981. The Family Soup Kitchen, tutoring services and a shelter soon followed and the programs offered at the church grew from there. In 2006, the congregation moved to Grace and Peace Community Church, and The Baldwin Center continued offering human service programs as an independent 501(c)(3).
