The Route
A north-bound journey through the heart of Epping Forest, starting from Chingford and finishing in Epping town. Expect ancient beechwoods, hidden paths, and that proper "middle of nowhere" feeling – all within Zone 6.

- Distance: 24.5km (15 miles)
- Elevation gain: ~440m
- Finish: Epping – pub and café options available
- Return: Central Line direct to Liverpool Street

Important: Buy a single ticket only – we won't return to Highams. You'll finish in Epping with easy Central Line access home.
The Challenge
Looking at the elevation profile, expect:
- Gradual elevation gain as you head north through the forest
- Mix of singletrack, bridleways, and forest paths
- Roots, mud (conditions dependent), and some punchy climbs
- Technical sections requiring good footwork
- Terrain rises from 22m to 117m at the highest point
