Adults who are experiencing memory loss and their caregivers are invited to the library for a 90-minute Memory Cafe. Together, we will enjoy a snack, participate in a friendly and low-pressure chat, some activities, and simply enjoy some time together.
What is a Memory Cafe?
Memory Cafe's give adults experiencing memory loss an opportunity to get together with others on a regular basis for social interaction. The environment is safe and welcoming and staff have received dementia-awareness training. Participants can drop-in as they are able and stay for the entire time, or leave when needed. Because the program is designed for and attended by people in a similar situation, there is no need to worry about the social stigma that often surrounds memory loss. Everyone is welcome no matter where they are at in their journey. There is no charge to attend.
