Step into the hidden history of the Chesapeake Bay watershed through Water’s Way: Thinking Like a Watershed, produced by The Bay Journal. Once shaped by millions of beaver ponds and natural wetlands, this landscape was designed to slow, spread, and filter water as it moved through creeks and rivers toward the Bay. Over time, development, agriculture, and the channelization of streams have disrupted these natural systems—leaving behind what scientists call an “ecological amnesia” about how watersheds once functioned. Through compelling storytelling and stunning visuals, Water’s Way explores how natural elements like beavers, trees, and restored wetlands could help repair these processesand improve water quality once again.
Before and after the screening, converse with local conservation professionals about watershed health and practical ways communities can support restoration efforts close to home. Light refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. Donations are graciously accepted.
