In this session, we'll talk about securing your technology. Entrepreneurs and small business owners should understand why hackers want to compromise their technology (and access their Identity, Access and Privileges). For this presentation, Lauren will cover some detailed precautions they can take individually and on behalf of the company. Items like phishing and cloud safety will be discussed.

In addition, he will touch on protecting against some hacker tricks and some tell-tale signs of potential existing hacker activity.

As an active member of and former ambassador for the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, he graduated from the chamber’s SmartUp business program and The Leadership Institute. He later appeared as a guest on Chamber Chat on NewsTalk1300. He is a winner of Master Schnizzer 2013 (TruMethods), and Marketing Genius of the month (TMT); was a finalist in the Better Your Best contest (TMT) and was recognized by The Albany Business Review as a 40 under 40 winner.

Lauren is an enthusiastic and active member of his community. Lauren served as an adjunct instructor at ITT Technical Institute in Latham, and he currently sits on the technical advisory board at Mildred Elley School of Business and Technology in Albany. He is the former President of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, which he helped launch and still participates as a board member. He also is the current Chair of the Leadership Institute as a member of board of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Lauren has been featured in local newspapers, magazines and news channels. He is a volunteer for Joseph’s House Inn From The Cold and March Of Dimes and an active member at Terra Nova Church.

In his spare time, Lauren spends time with his five children and wife, Erika. As well as volunteering as part of the Cub Scouts Committee Chair. A fun fact about Lauren is that he loves to go skiing.
